Want to be part of the TEXTURES OF HOPE Project?

The Textures of Hope Project aims to explore practices, experiences and understanding of hope today. At a time when there are lots of challenges in the world as well as in our own lives, hope can seem in short supply. This project aims to help us understand what we can do to build hope, and seeks to be a positive and hopeful space for people who take part. It is also interested in exploring whether people’s real experiences of hope are similar to or different from what academics and churches say hope is all about.
I am looking for 8-10 adult volunteers who are interested in taking part in some creative activities and group conversations together. You’ll be invited to participate in three group conversations, lasting around 1h30 each to coincide with the Community Larder on Wednesdays, during which we’ll do some creative art together led by an artist. We’ll decide together what creative art we’d like to do and how to space the sessions. You’ll also be invited to an interview after that if you would like – so that I can learn more about your own thoughts on hope – and we might come up with some other ideas together for creative activities we could do as a group together or between the group conversations. The group will also decide how to share what we’ve discovered with others in the community.
If you are interested and would like more information, please contact Susie Snyder at susanna.snyder@theology.ox.ac.uk. There is no obligation to take part.
Thank you!
