More tickets are now available for the one-off concert, on the 25th of March, entitled ‘Jump Billy!’, a celebration of English folk’s diverse history. Conveyed through the life of celebrity Black Regency busker Billy Waters, who’s legacy has been brought to life by Susanna Wesley Foundation grant recipient, Mary L. Shannon.
Mary recently attended the ‘Celebration of Methodist Schools’ conference to speak on her book, entitled ‘Billy Waters is Dancing‘.
The concert will mark the 250th anniversary of Billy Waters’ birth, with live music from Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, Clarke Camilleri, Hamilton Gross, and Angeline Morrison, and also featuring Maz O’Connor and Martin Simpson. There’ll be a mix of solo and band performances with music from the artists’ own repertoires – old and new – as well as trad.
