Dr Karen O’Donnell of Sarum College will speak about ‘Providence, Prayer and Pregnancy: Theology in the light of reproductive loss’, providing an insight into material she is preparing for a new book, and a topic which falls into our 2021 theme, Embodied Faith.

Karen O’Donnell is the Director of the Centre for Contemporary Spirituality and leads the programmes in Christian Spirituality at Sarum College, Salisbury, UK. In her most recent publications — Broken Bodies: The Eucharist, Mary, and the Body in Trauma Theology (SCM Press, 2018) and Feminist Trauma Theologies: Body, Scripture and Church in Critical Perspective (SCM Press, 2020) — her research is particularly focused on the places where bodies intersect with theology.
