SWF is pleased to be supporting a project for Christians working to support refugees and asylum seekers, hosted at Durham University.
The organisers invite participation and their deadline is Jan 19th 2024. They write:
Free international reflective learning programme for Christians supporting refugees and asylum seekers in local communities across Northern, Eastern and Central Europe (including the UK) – Express interest in taking part now!
This series of around four online workshops and one in-person workshop will provide a free opportunity to meet and learn together with other Christians who are directly involved in working to support refugees and asylum seekers. In the workshops, participants will learn from reflecting and engaging in dialogue with others who are doing similar work, as well as sharing ideas from practice in different contexts.
We will particularly explore how those taking part reflect on how their identities and Christian faith affect and are affected by this work with refugees and asylum seekers. There will be opportunities to connect with those working in different European contexts on these issues, including through a workshop at Durham University, UK, planned for 9th to 11th April 2024.
If you are involved in related work and are interested in finding out more about applying for a free place, with related travel expenses covered, please see the attached ‘call for participants’ for details. This includes a link to a short online form that you can use to express your interest in taking part. If you have any questions, please email Oksana Prosvirnina. We will begin selecting participants from all of the expressions of interest received so far by Friday 19th January before 3pm UK time/4pm Central European Time, so if possible, please express your interest before then. (We may continue to accept applications after this date, but only if there are still places available, so it is important to express your interest as soon as possible).
