Replanting in the Same Pot: Reclaiming Local Lay Ministry for Mission is an action research project led by Erica Dunmow, an organisational development, fresh expressions, and urban mission practitioner, working with Dr Delroy Hall, pastor, counsellor and equalities practitioner. They had a vision that churches could be revived and made more missional through a focus on lay development and discipleship. They worked with an urban centre church and identify twelve factors that emerged from the action research process. SWF supported the research, and present here the researchers’ summary and full report.
“This form of basic, every-member-ministry church is simple and can be run in a public worship setting or as part of the life of a home group or class meeting. As such it is easily replicable and offers a relatively simple methodology for church renewal.”
